Tracking and cookie notice
Tech Tips Hub requires a cookie and anonymous usage tracking as a condition of access. This supports weekly usage reports and helps rank frequently useful resources.
What is collected
The Hub stores a random session identifier for up to seven days. It records page views, document opens, external-resource opens, tool use, selected source-backed result use, and thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings for Direct Field Answers and individual evidence resources. Reports show totals and resource-level feedback—not individual activity.
Retention
Anonymous usage events are retained for up to 90 days, then automatically removed. Security rate-limit records expire automatically with their short request window.
What is not collected
We do not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, search text, form contents, or document contents in usage analytics. A feedback rating is linked only to the answer or evidence resource record, not to the question entered.
Your choice
You can decline tracking, but the Hub will deny access. To use the Hub after declining, return to the required-tracking notice and enable the cookie.
